Can someone educate me on funds?

Are the entrance of funds an indicator that big player are interested? Where do I go and how do I recognize a fund buy or sell? Is there a way to track interested funds, when they're interested, and who they are, and what quantities are they in for?

Or is this am I wasting time pursing this line of thought?
