Yeah Sambone, I agree that Geoprofs post was very thoughtful. Too bad it was followed up by paranoid, slanderous 'soft' bashing. I say soft bashing because you don't actually come out and say it but you in fact are calling into question the motives, character and intention of Noront BOD. Is this true? Be careful about what you say because there are people being held to task about making slanderous statements. I do not know you and cannot comment on your character but something just doesn't add up about you and the rest of the 'soft' bashers on this forum. Yeah, yeah I heard the whole 'I own Noront stock so I can display my concerns' routine already. there is just something fishy about someone who openly bashes his/her own investment. It is quite clear that you are only concerned about your FWR investment and I respect that as a Freewest SH you feel as though have legitimate concerns and have to protect your investment, but seriously if you are going to make statements like this then please back it up or kindly refrain from making these statements. These statements don't even belong on the FWR forum let alone the Noront forum. You have absolutely no evidence that the Noront BOD is out to 'screw' its investors. You know.....I was there for the Noront proxy battle leading up to last years AGM and I felt quite betrayed that it was even taking place but I had alot of time to reflect on the comings and goings of the last year and have quite frankly gotten' over it and even accepted it as necessary to the benefit of my investment in this company!
I get the fact that that you may also feel the same way about this 'takeover'. Hopefully, in time, you too will come to the realization that this may well be a necessary 'evil' to the benefit of all IMHO. Of course this will also benefit the Noront BOD these guys have spent there lifetimes accruing fortunes for themselves and others. Don't for one instance think that Mr. Mac Watson is in this game purely for the benevelant cause of FWR SH. As in Geoprofs sentiment, I would rather have my investments backed by these guys. Any other concerns that are not benificial to Noront shareholders do not belong on this forum.
Now in an effort to contribute something to this forum I would like to address this whole 'Trust' issue that seems to be a common theme here these days and is pushing alot of good people away from this forum and investment. You stated a concern that the Noront BOD is pulling an 'Aurelian' type scam on it's investors. I don't mean to make light of the people who lost money on this investment but the way I remember it, it was an eventuality. I first heard about Aurelian when it was around four bucks. I had a buddy who got in much earlier and was excited for me to partake in the good fortunes that at the time seemed like all blue skies. Well, I'm not much of an investor so it was my impression that the ship has sailed and questioned how much more it could realistically go up (Hell....it was already a ten bagger!!!!) so needless to say I declined. I heard about Aurelian again when it hit ten and then twenty and so on. Forgive my recollection but I did not really pay too much attention to it after that (after all who likes to get daily reminders of the ship you missed.......just like the first time I heard about Ballard....but that's another story).
The point I am trying to make is a simple one. There are explorers and there are miners and the people who make money off both. Aurelian was an explorer! They never intended to mine the resource they had discovered any more than than Friedland did. They did the whole posturing thing and kept there cards close to their vests (just like Friedland did and I might note our own BOD) and when it appeared they could very well lose due to political instability(or corruption) then they cashed out. Yes, people lost money! By the time word hits main street and the frenzy is in full swing greed takes over. People expect a stock to continue to rise exponentially and they too will get their 'ten bagger' or 'twenty bagger' etc. etc. Not everyone lost money by the incredible story of the rise and eventual fall of Aurelian (I suppose it just depends on when you get in or out and what motivated you to do so) Alot people made a fortune on this investment. Well let me tell you, in any exploration stock (with an economic resource) if you hold on too long or get in too late then you stand a pretty good chance of losing money. These explorers aren't out to screw the investors, they just do what they are expected to......sell or mine.
IMHO we are still pretty early in the game and all stand to make a great deal of profits from this investment. And when I say 'this investment' I mean all ROF landholders (especially Noront). My message to the FWR SH is to realistically assess the resource they have and ask themselves if the net profit margin is likely to attract a suitor with a huge cash offer. IMHO I don't think so. Anyway, it is not my intention to get into a debate about whos got what. If you think you are more likely to get your 'ten bagger' with FWR then vote 'NO' with your shares and move on. We'll do just fine without you .I have my own theories on what to expect, but that is not for this forum because there is nothing substantive to back it (get the picture). This forum can do without the players who make their money by devious means using emotional drivel to 'rally' the troops without any substantive facts to back up what they are saying. Yeah, I suppose I can be put into that category depending how you look at it. I would much rather sit back and soak up all the valuable info that some posters have taken their time to share but as we are all aware these people are becoming an extinct breed and are being pushed out by the weasels. Somebody has to call these people on the B.S. that gets posted.
BEWARE of the poster who dumps (or pumps) a stock in the disguise of looking out for your interests. DO YOUR OWN DD!
Long on Noront and a believer what we have in the ground and in those who are truly looking to make my (ergo their) investment POP.......the Noront BOD.
Peace
Kelly
