"One of the Co's in the same area comes out with somewhat positive news,,,,and everyone here bashes the crap out of it...yet they still promote buying this company out. Why..."

Yes it is confusing if you state it the way you did.
But what you state, i.e. interpret is not how it is.

FWR has a large chromite resource, larger than NOT's, there is no arguing of that. So this resource in itself is valuable, and in my opinion, a reason for a merger attempt.

NOT's chromite is smaller but more valuable on a per ton basis because it is more concentrated, better chromium to iron ratio and precious metals included. Then there is the nickel, copper etc. all these much more readely sellable on the markets.
So there is variety and quality favourable to Noront.

Though, that is not what I was posting about in my recent posts.

My point is because Noront has a qualitative edge with it's chromite, it appears to me that FWR has been trying in a desperate attempt to counter that, but failing and doing more hard than good to it's cause.

The harm is in implying that the dispersed precious metals in it's chromite body is, or can be considered as, a resource. By no means is it so and a misrepresentation to the public. So it is a pr mistake but having made it, that mistake does not take anything away from FWR's chromite body as being desirable to Noront.

Aside, I repeat from many days ago.
My opinion is that Noront is not pursuing a merge just to create a bigger exploration company ( even though that is also true) But the main cause is that whoever of the two develops a chromite mine first will corner the majority of north America's market and leave the other in the cold for dacades, effectively making the other's chromite resource worthless for those decades.
By combining the two bodies, both profit and are worth more together than individually.

What sparked this move imo is Cliffs staking rail/road routes and Noront's familiarity visit to South Africa probably initiated some comments about a larger chromite resource being of interest to the Africans. Noront could have waited to be swallowed up or do the swallowing itself to become a partner or a viable mining center on itself. I think they are on a course for the latter.
