On Sunday night, a few of us were discussing the terminology applied to the Noront Offer, as what you call it has a profound psychological impact on the reader. That's what makes the choice of language used by politicians so persuasive.
Although in a flippant manner, I proposed a neutral word, simply to emphasize the impact on thinking that word selection forces on you. The emotional reaction of word is selection is intentional. I made up a word with no connotations to show that. 'Merger' versus 'hostile takeover' versus 'unsolicited absorbitude' (or something). It matters what you call it.
I disagree vehemently that this was an off-topic concept to discuss.
Moreover, we as a community have shown by our own conduct that weekends have relaxed rules. During the business week, stricter guidelines are enforced. The community set that standard, and I abide by it.
A little banter on a Sunday night is worth polarizing the community over strict application of rules? Was it worth it to do that? Because that is a direct result of what you did, un-named reporter.
With all due respect,
