What, a two day halt? For what reason? Even a two hour is lengthy in most circumstances.

You halt for ten or more minutes release the news and give it half to an hour afterwards for every one to wake up to it. A bit longer period if the news release is lengthy to read.

Mid morning or early afternoon I would consider ideal time that is if one wants it during trading time.
