I'm exceedingly busy with some very important matters, so I haven't had time to put together any sort of analysis on the recent Eagles Nest news. I want to do a proper job of that, and it's going to take me a little while. I'll just give you a taste of where my thinking is....

I am exceedingly stoked by this news. Those high-grade PGE assays are now (off the top of my head) the third such double-digit gram/tonne zone? 3 of 70 holes have hit bonanza grade PGE? There's a lot more down there, folks. A lot more. Nemis was right, this could be mined for the PGE alone.

When I first spoke to Dr. Mungall at PDAC, I felt like I was getting a data and concept download. The DSL line was connected, and away it went. One of the concepts he tossed my way was that the fire assay procedure used in determining the PGE content of mineral samples is modelled after what Mother Nature has done in these magmas. We humans saw what naturally occurs, and we do it on a small scale in a furnace. Here's what ActLabs has on their website about that fire assay procedure:

"The platinum group elements (PGE) can use a nickel sulphide fire assay procedure using borax, soda ash, silica, high purity nickel powder and sulphur. The sample is fired at 1100 degrees C and a nickel sulphide droplets scavenge the PGE and form a button at the bottom of the crucible. The nickel sulphide button is digested in HCl and the insoluble residue is analyzed by INAA Code 1B) or further digested and analyzed by ICP/MS (Code 1B2). "

Mother Nature has done a HUGE fire assay at Eagles Nest. Be very comfortable in your Noront investment, folks. I am.
