Ontario 2011 Election Ramifications

posted on Oct 11, 11 06:14PM

With all due respect, with the Liberal party having won a "major minority", I would suggest that the implications for government support of a transportation corridor to the ROF and the location of the chrome smelter have been more or less firmed up. Given that the Thunder Bay and surrounding area voted Liberal, one might surmise that they will be rewarded with a renewed government effort to support construction of the former with more vigour than previously. With respect to the location of the smelter, the Sudbury area is also still a possibility with the Liberals having won one seat there and their ability to ultimately influence Cliff's decision through a number of "incentives".

I guess what I'm trying to say is that the ultimate outcomes will be more or less politically influenced.

Whatever the case, I hope that it occurs sooner than later.

Any comments?
