We never really know the truth when we read the newspaper.

Reporters don't always get both sides of the story and they often times do not do their due diligence in making sure the story is correct.

The Start article above doesn't have sufficent facts to base an opinion.

"We don’t have revenue-sharing with De Beers,” Spence said, saying they get a payment from the company but declined to say how much"

When I read the above it's like saying, "my employees doesn't pay me commissions beyond my salary...but he does provide incentive pay beyond my salary. KInda sounds like the same thing?

How the heck do you say De Beers doesn't share revenue but in the same sentence say they give you payments.

Why would Spence decline to say how much...what is so secretive about that? If Spence feels ripped off she should state the facts.
