What they and everyone else on the planet should be looking at is a Thorium reactor. Sources of fuel are abundant and relatively cheap and the the reactors are safe and easily scaled up or down. If the First Nations want to seriously deal with global warming and be at the forefront of technology along with the jobs this would create for them this would be the way to do it.
