Ringer, thanks for bringing this Sudbury Star article to our attention.

The ROF is getting very close and expect to see more of the "decades away talk" and negative stuff coming out in media.

Let's use this article as an example and take a closer look.

Who is John Lindsay,Sudbury who wrote this "guest" column?

Why did he write this article?

=======================================

I suggest folks read the article a couple of times and grasp what this guy is saying.

He's "worried??" about the economy in Sudbury and the ROF in his opinion....."may" be decades away.

If I had the chance to stare Mr. John Lindsay right in the face....

I'd say John, if you are interested in economic development and help for Sudbury...explain why you opposed the Maley Rd. Extension in Sudbury? why? When it could benefit the ROF when it's developed??

"I am frustrated and disgruntled with the opposition to Maley Drive from John Lindsay and his Friendly to Seniors group.

This constant opposition to the Maley Drive extension has cost Greater Sudbury millions.

Experts studying this proposal have realized the importance of this road to improve traffic flow in and out of the city. With new mining sites scheduled to open in the coming years, there will be increased need for thoroughfares accommodating slurry trucks that travel on Lasalle Boulevard.

We also are familiar with the heavy traffic that travel on Lasalle and The Kingsway, which has wreaked damage to this main artery.

This has caused major repairs annually and it's not only affecting the flow of traffic out, but it's also having an effect on our tax dollars

I can drive from North Bay to Sudbury in 90 minutes, but on many occasions, it takes almost an hour to drive from the Falconbridge intersection to my home in the west end.

This is disgusting, outrageous and reprehensible.

We elected a new council to eliminate the conflicts and squabbling that has existed and to make decisions taking this great city into the 21st century.

Work on Maley Drive must begin immediately and before the federal government becomes annoyed with our city council and makes a decision that we will forever regret."

"Boyce largely reiterated much of what Cecutti said, noting Maley drive would ease traffic congestion along Lasalle Boulevard and The Kingsway, and would create hundreds of jobs. He also said Maley Drive could benefit the city once the Ring of Fire is developed. The chamber has long been advocating for the development of the chromite deposits in northwestern Ontario.

"We believe the time to make a decision and to support Maley Drive has come,” Boyce added. “The chamber of commerce recommends these infrastructure dollars be spent in our community to bolster needed economic growth in our region

The Maley Rd. project in Sudbury is going ahead by the way…..sorry John Lindsay… L

My FINAL POINT is the zinger………

Who is John Lindsay….really? We know he is Chair of this "friendly to seniors board."
