Sounds like The Jetsons to me, with George pushing buttons in his space vehicle to send Elroy down to his school and wife Jane to the shopping Centre. In space tubes. ........

And then George lands at Spacely Sprockets, his vehicle neatly folds into his briefcase while he is transported along the moving sidewalk.
