Message: Winter Exploration Update

http://blog.norontresources.com/2017/04/winter-exploration-update/#more-105

It’s been a busy few months as we executed Phase One of our winter exploration program.

We began by retrieving drill core from our McFaulds copper-zinc VMS property and bringing it back to Esker Camp for analysis — no small task we can assure you! We hadn’t had an opportunity to review this core since we acquired the project from Cliffs in 2015. Now that we have it, our geologists are busy re-logging the core to better understand the geology of the deposits.

The other major task was to begin our track mounted rotary air-blast (RAB) drilling program. This marks the first time a RAB drill rig has ever been used in the Ring of Fire, and it is proving to be an efficient and low-impact method of testing covered magnetic anomalies in the bedrock. We are following up on drilled targets that turn out to be favorable host rocks (ultramafic) with ground geophysics (UTEM) so we can identify possible nickel-copper sulfide mineralization at depth. If we find promising targets we will bring in the bigger diamond drill rig to test it at depth.

Wish us luck!
