You were almost right.....substitute hectares where you said hectares, and it *is* about thirty.......From the May 14 NR:

"Under the terms of the agreement ("FWR-NOT JV"), Freewest will contribute 68 acres (27.5 hectares) comprising a small portion of their 100%-owned property. Noront in turn, will contribute 70 acres (28.3 hectares) of their adjoining land to collectively form the joint-venture property ("the Property"). "

The target happened to lie such that the claim "property lines" went right up the middle. NOT put up an L-shaped piece, and FWR cut the corner out of their square (the 100%-owned block), to create the JV lands.
