The Snez Mindset

Posted by: snezzer on August 21, 2008 11:56AM

Sum4All - I love your posts lately. I don't know why some people are slagging on you. It is clear to me that you still hold high hopes for Noront, but that you are trying to remain grounded and not let your expectations get too far ahead of reality.

Positive posts are good, folks. Of course they are. We wouldn't be here unless we weren't positive on the future of this company. Many of us believe that this will go to a multiple of $10/sh. But we don't know when. So making statements about when this will happen is completely fanciful. Fun, yes. But fanciful.

Also, statements like "Well, we're definitely moving up now. We've seen our bottom." are based 100% in emotion and opinion. Not fact. How many times have you or I thought that very thing and then seen the sp drop back down to new lows. Sure, the above statement MAY hold true THIS time. But therein lies my point (and Sum4All's point): It MAY hold true this time. Nobody knows what this market will do. I'm convinced of that now.

I'm convinced that Noront HAS a massive Chromite deposit.

I'm convinced that Noront has a growing proven up Nickel/PGM resource in the ground.

I'm convinced that there are assays pending on AT12 (which, according to rumours are very good, possibly even between 1 and 2% nickel over decent lengths).

I'm convinced that Noront is near to having their close-up look at the zone from which the record-setting gold drill core was pulled at Windfall.

I'm convinced that Noront has a fantastic management team and an amazing CEO. Although I've never met any of them personally. So, I wouldn't trust my life with them. Just my money. :-)

I'm convinced that Noront has the potential to be bought out at a multiple of $10 per share (with the present # of shares outstanding).

I'm convinced that Noront has a nicely padded bank account that should allow them to work, without needing financing for quite some time. (Note that "for quite some time" is the formal, scientific way of saying "I have no idea how long their money will last them.")

HOWEVER, (and I think that this is where Sum4All would agree, if I'm reading his posts correctly), I'm NOT CONVINCED that the sp will reflect any of this today, tomorrow, in the fall, by Christmas, after the year end holidays, 2009 Q1,... Do you get my drift??? I am with Herb. I don't care what the sp is between now and when the major steps in and buys us out. And I think a lot of us are like that. But that does not mean that we are not excited to watch our money grow. Which is why we stick around here IN THE EVENT that the market does decide to FINALLY give us value for what's already proven up - never mind giving us any speculative value, of which their is aplenty.

My wife, who is biochemically composed of Patience, asked me the other day: "So? Noront. You still so sure about that? Or do you have any concerns?" I, who am biochemically composed of Pride, said: "Honey. No. You need to trust me on this. I know I've been wrong about my past targets. But... no. Nothing to worry about." Then I went into a dark, dank room with only my thoughts and came up with the following 3 concerns:

1) This is a minor concern: Eventually our bank account WILL run out. And if we don't have gold from Windfall to sell by then, and the markets are still undervaluing us, then another PP will get done and more shares will get added to the coffer at a lower price than I would be happy with. Don't say it CAN'T or WON'T happen. It's unlikely, and improbable, sure. But several things that have happened with our sp in the last year have been unlikely to happen as well.

2) This is my biggest concern: That a major will buy us out for waaaay less than we would get in a healthy market situation. Look, if it was a GOD'S-SURE-GUARANTEE that we were going to be bought out at $50, then we wouldn't be sitting at $3, guys. I mean, I'm not concerned that we'll get bought out at the current share price point. But even if we were bought out at $10/share I would be HIGHLY disappointed. As I said earlier, I believe there is potential for a multiple of $10/share. But my belief will not make it so. And this is why I am concerned. So, this is another reason why I watch the forum and the sp every day. Because if the sp goes up, so does the future potential buy-out price. :-)

3) I am hearing rumours of large flying robotic polar eels. They are making their way from the Siberian coast over to Alaska. And their plans are, according to my sources, to eventually settle down in the Northern Manitoba/Ontario/Quebec region. Now I'm not saying that this WILL happen for sure, but I would be lying if I said it didn't worry me that at least a portion of them (and there are around 3 billion) will make the McFaulds region their home. Again, I'm not positive, but I'm guessing that these things are hostile. And gross. So... I'm holding long, but a guy would be crazy to not at least consider these eels in the equation when planning to load up on more shares. There is nothing worse than a flying robotic eel laying poisonous eggs in a drill hole or eating the face off of the camp cook.

There you have it. I'm long on NOT. Been that way since December '06. I stand to make million(s) if this thing goes to the moon. And I believe it can, and I'm starting to believe that it probably will. But there is no guarantee of exactly how this will play out. Even so, I will not sell a single share (even to pay off some debts) until our sp is over $10.

Let the Games continue.

Cheers to all,

~snezzer
