I understand the tax implications...but have a home buyers plan settlement of $20k due in 16 years. Thought NOT might help pay down a little of that over time.
On another note, I always due a lot of DD. I love this site, especially after living on the nasty bullboards of yesterday. However, I also read "Al's McFauld thoughts" regulary. Have you seen this post:

He takes a pretty good stab at us "permabulls". I believe he might think the hub leaders of the NOT forum are a tad reckless. Also feels we have the blinders on...a good read, but got my panties and a bit of a bunch thinking he fells there might be a bunch of dummies on here that might take your posts and opinions as gospel. Sad really...not everyone has a sheep's mentality.
