The new CEO gave a short explication of poets place in the current hardware ecosystem: the cloud continues to grow, and a cutting edge optically integrated chip offering is an elegant, cost effective solution for what they are hankering for (more speed, power, and bandwidth). Poet offers a solution with no technological competition (yet). The market will eventually solve its problem one way or another, but the window of opportunity is here and now, and that's why these gentlemen have joined the company. Second rate solutions do exist, however. I believe the term is "kludgy". Th Thankfully, he mentioned that the window of opportunity to present a working product to the marketplace is a few years, "not two months." In other words, these gentlemen know the tech is sound, but that is only the first battle in a very long war. They know that it will still require great effort and diligence to fully succeed, and IMHO they are the right men for the job!
