Hi Rainer, I think a more accurate statement would be:

"but in a final Tx/Rx solution, everything could or may be combined on a single chip".

Although a configuration could indeed be an all-in-one chip, I don't think it's required. In fact, if we refer to slide 10 of POET's investor presentation here we see the proposed configuration for 800G is 3 chips (2 Tx chips + 1 Rx chip) on an OSFP, and for the 1.6T its 6 chips (4 Rx chips + 2 Rx chips) for 1.6T on an OSFP-XD.
