Pacific Comox Resources Profile

Pacific Comox is focused on the exploration of the Ryan Lake copper-molybdenum claims at Matchewan, south of Timmins in Northern Ontario, and the Mabel gold/silver property in northern Sonora State Mexico.

Ryan Lake: Diamond drilling by Pacific Comox has outlined the potential for two copper-molybdenum open pits on a mineralized north-south trend about 2,000 feet long.

The first pit, at the south end of the trend encompasses the area of the former underground copper-molybdenum mine which was in production at 150 tons/day during the 1950-1957 period. In addition to the encouraging historical exploration results, evidence of the potential is illustrated by the results of Comox’s five diamond drill holes reported on September 19, 2005 including two holes on Section 10073E. Mineralization on this Section averaged 8.8 lbs/ton (0.44%) copper and 0.54 lbs/ton (0.027%) molybdenum over 110 feet.

The second pit is the former producing molybdenum open-pit, located 1,000 feet north of the first pit. To-date, six of the eight holes drilled by Comox in the area of this pit returned a near surface zone of higher grade molybdenum with an average of 2.0 lbs/ton (0.10%) molybdenum & 2.7 lbs/ton (0.14%) copper over an average length of 47 feet and starts at 15 feet from surface.

In addition to the encouraging exploration results to-date and the considerable exploration potential the currently operating barite mill on the property, and the other infrastructure should be a major advantage in advancing the property. The mill has crushing and grinding capacity of several hundred tons per day.

Mabel: Comox has outlined 6 areas of drill intersected mineralization (141 RC holes drilled). Two areas are summarized below:

  • in one of Carmelitas areas 15 holes returned 2 g/t gold and 68 g/t silver over average intersections of 3 meters, and encompass an area 210 meters north-south and 260 meters east-west,

  • in the Gate Zone, 14 holes returned 1.3 g/t gold and 70 g/t silver over an average interval of 4.1 meters, and encompass an area 600 meters north-south and 300 meters east-west.

A map of the Mabel property outlining the areas drilled is given at Mabel property map. Maps giving the drill locations for the Gate-1910 Zone and the Micho Zone where the new copper intersections were reported are given at Gate-1910 zone map and Micho zone map.
