Ultimately. what did ARU in was corrupt insiders, who sold out the shareholders in order to line their pockets.
Even with ARU (I got in around $6 presplit) there were many short term trading opportunities and many made good profits in trading in and out.
Funny, PLE has had even more of a "sure thing" about that ARU ever did before the drills hit the motherlode (part of the reason I didn't get in until it was in the $6s).
One lesson learned from all that - when insiders sell its not a good thing, even when its relatively small quantities. The ARU board that had lots of smart posters kept taking themselves out of the danger signs that appeared when insiders started selling.
Another lesson learned - you need capable and honest management. That's one thing that I continue to wonder about with PLE and the main reason I don't have a large position.
