The current rise in gold's price in US$ is simply a revaluation to the diving US$.

In C$ the price has barely budged, the real story is the collapsing US$, don't loose sight of that.

I really get a kick out of the main media spewing verbal vomit about the economic recovery and that all is well. The US is in a virtual meltdown, the fat cats have been rescued , it's the common man that will be burdened by a monetary collapse, inevitable hyperinflation.

Acquire hard assets, lock in fixed rates...weather the storm.
