This is yesterdays announcement of 'Rio Alto Mining' getting its listing on the Lima exchange. The highlighted section although not completely clear (because of translation?) seems to indicate that there are 7 more companies in the process of trying to list on the exchange. Does this mean we have a 1 in 7 chance of the ball starting to roll. The 'listing' appears to be a critical feature concerning the timing of Guy's next NR.
"The Lima Stock Exchange announced that a new company joins the list of issuers 2009. This is the junior mining "Rio Alto Mining Limited".
With this income Bag records a total of 3 new companies issuing securities, since last September and were listed AIB Insur Agribusiness Insurance Company.
It should be noted also that Rio Alto Mining Limited is the first junior mining entering the Venture Capital segment in 2009.
This segment is a specialized mechanism implemented by the BVL to provide financing junior mining companies for their exploration and development activities, through the Peruvian capital market.
High River joins at 8 junior companies that are listed on the Venture Capital Segment: Vena Resources, Candente Resources, Panoro Minerals Mining Nortsemont, Inca Pacific, Alturas Minerals Corp. Fortuna Silver Mines Inc. and Apoquindo Minerals Inc.
"The news is important because the international crisis was reflected in the departure of new ventures. In 2008 joined 23 companies, and in 2009 they had new listings until the month of September, when joined AIB and Insur Agribusiness Insurance Company, and Rio Alto Mining Limited now, "Robert Hoyle, President of the Lima Stock Exchange"
"This would suggest that the Lima market would be relaunched by the supply side of securities. The business confidence by the Lima Stock Exchange would be demonstrated through this new list and also because to date we have 7 issuers who the process of registration of its securities. This would endow the investors of new alternatives, "said Hoyle.
"The lesson of the recent crisis is restricting credit lines from banks, however, the stock market never closed the doors to business. In this sense, the birth of what companies should look at the lived Lima Stock Exchange as the natural and ideal source to source long-term financial resources, Hoyle stressed.
In this regard stated that the specific case of junior mining Lima Stock Exchange is the only region which offers a financing alternative through its Venture Capital segment."
1 in 7 doesn't sound too bad. GLTA
