easton,
It is always nice to hear a friendly voice on this site.
This one is just a game of patience. I do believe that there is some money to be made in PLE ... but Northern Peru has turned out to be a very difficult place to do business. If you are new to this area then you are arriving at a point where a lot of things are in transition. Virtually everything that is changing is changing in favour of PLE .... but that is where the patience comes in.
The CEO (Bedard) has been cunning enough (so far) not to let this prize slip out of his hands ... but he doesn't seem to be able exert much influence (not surprising). After a couple of attempts he has made progress in terms of developing local business relationships which at least gives him some connection to the the local business environment (and possibly some indirect influence.).
The latest move of setting up a processing operation seems like a good move (maybe the only move he had).
The most likely short term scenario relates to the processing business. They appear to have enough infrastructure (and plans) to grow their batch operation into a serious operation. If they can run enough high grade through then they will be able to generate some serious money. For PLE that will mitigate against the the going-concern risk that has weighed down this stock over the past couple of years.
I expect to see this stock revalued upward after they report this quarter and it may even start trading again on exploration potential again if they can show some progress toward an accord with the local authorities. My price targets have been too optimistic in the past ... so I will keep them to myself ... but I do expect 2011 to be a good year for PLE shareholders.
Any positive news about the accord with the local communities should give the shares a fairly immediate bump.
I think we saw the worst that PLE will do recently when it tested 8c and the 200 dma ... they held just fine.
Net net ... this isn't a bad place to park some money.
As for SKI ... I have no idea what Jeff is saying most of the time (I'm sure I am not alone). I have keep my subscription active just to exchange ideas with some of the folks on the site ... but that is about it.
No Yoda.
All the best.
