Multisectoral Commission to attend informal mining
The Regional Government will begin to address the serious problem of informal and illegal mining.
With participation of the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM), the Regional Government and other institutions such as farmers, National Police, Sunat, among others, will form a multisectoral committee to begin addressing the serious problem of informal and illegal mining.
The Economic Development Manager, William Dulaney, said that while small-scale mining is up to the regional authority, there are still programs that are still driving from Lima, so it is necessary to have the support of the MEM in this work.
Said there are about 8 to 9 thousand miners informal and illegal, installed in the area of Suyo, Las Lomas and Sapillica. And although the law entitles them step in and remove them, it requires at least 10 thousand policemen to make a huge operation and the police remain in the area for a long time, otherwise the miners return to extract the gold.
But as there is no such number of police, you can not do that.
