WITH WORKSHOPS FOR TRAINING MEM DRIVES FORMALIZATION OF THOUSANDS OF ARTISANAL MINERS

•Reunión of work will continue next Tuesday

The Ministry of energy and mines (MEM) reported that training workshops which began today and will conclude on Tuesday, August 9, the Directorate General of mining (DGM) expected give great impetus to the formalization of thousands of artisanal miners, who can now apply for or renew your accreditation via the extranet.

As well as today, next week the workshop will take place from 09: 00 a.m. to 12.00 m., in the Auditorium of the MEM, located in the Avenue of the arts No. 260, in the District of San Borja.

Explained the Deputy Director of mining promotion, Economist Walter Sánchez, the record that the MEM gives small mining producer or artisanal mining producer, represents significant benefits to small producers mining and artisanal miners.

Pursuant to that record, they perform the payment of one amount less effective law and penalties. Also, make an investment for minimum production.

The official said that the effort of the MEM is particularly aimed to formalize small-scale mining producers who do not have a mining concession, but which have signed a contract for the exploitation with the holder of the concession.

"The existing standard gives the possibility of a mining concession-holder to sign a contract for the operation with those who do not have a concession, but want to work," said Sanchez.

The Deputy Director of mining promotion added that one does not have a concession, but which has also signed a contract of that kind qualifies perfectly as artisanal mining producer and in this way, the benefits that the law of formalization and promotion of the small producer miner and producer Minero Artesanal grants to those who have such qualifications.

"Usually, holders of a mining concession contracts signed directly with the artisanal mining producers, then what it is is formalize this situation indeed." "In this case, the formalization is to order the relationship between the holder of the mining concession and artisanal mining producer," he explained.

The contract for the operation is the first step, but the artisanal miners must understand that once formalised, among other important benefits, may directly acquire the materials needed for mining production, leaving pay Extras have to resort to intermediaries for not being formalized.
