Piura authorities will tackle the informal mining.

Given the harmful effects caused by informal mining in various locations in the Piura region, tomorrow will be installed Front Driving Group to the problems of illegal mining, the same shall be composed of officials from various agencies.
The creation of this group was formalized through Executive Resolution No. 807-2011 of the Regional Government of Piura, which comprises representatives of the Management of Human Resources, Environment, Department of Energy and Mines, Health, Environment in Special Prosecutor , Water Management Authority Jequetepeque-Zarumilla, among others.

Residents of areas such as Las Lomas (Piura), Suyo and Paimas (Ayabaca) or Huancabamba locations are affected by this activity developed informally, whose tailings are discharged into streams or rivers, causing contamination.

As previous work to address this problem diagnosis has been made on the subject, which is proposed as an alternative the creation of a Technical Working Committee involving all stakeholders.
