- The head of state, Ollanta Humala, declared of national interest the fight against illegal mining throughout the Peruvian territory.

He also said that all sectors involved should deploy efforts to combat illegal activities that damage the environment and our natural reserve.

It should be noted that currently 13 regions, as Mother of God, Piura, La Libertad, Puno, Ica, Ancash, Cuzco, Apurimac, Arequipa, Lima and engaged in illegal extraction of minerals.
