The survey is on average correct nonetheless it will require a qualifier. Europe, Canada, Mexico has been the top destination for American tourist. This has been changing with destinations cheaper and closer to home increasing as the favorite vacation hot spots. Trips to Caribbean, Mexico, South America has seen increasing traffic as the total cost for the trips are cheap. Travel service like all other services is inelastic and has substitutes.

Interestingly Canada has seen a reduction in American tourist because of the increase in Canadian dollar. This would be a good time to enter South American markets.
