The internet is an amazingly powerful tool to maximize time and efficiency, but will never replace one's desire to communicate live with another human being. While researching and booking simple point to point travel is easy on the net, more complex and expensive travel, such as cruises, vacation packages, groups, etc..is where people feel more comfortable speaking to an experienced agent. Also the more expensive and complex the travel, the more commission can be earned. Of course customer satisfaction and retention, is much higher. This is where "real" agents win.
