I am almost wondering if this chart you found could be used as a precursor to the popularity of the company and the number of shares purchased.  This may be a dumb statement.  

The number of searches certainly is proportional to the number of shares being traded.

Does any of this make sense?

BTW, I like the link you found...it speaks volumes(pardon the pun).  I will certainly be saving that link.  If I get ambitious I might start graphing this information with number of shares traded on a daily basis.  Maybe this chart already exists.  This might sound a little dumb but I do like gathering and interpreting information.  It helps pass the time and provides a different point of view.
