Richmond Minerals Inc. and Fort Chimo Minerals Inc.: Exploration Update
TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 8, 2009) - Richmond Minerals (TSX VENTURE:RMD) and Fort Chimo Minerals (CNSX:FCM) are pleased to provide an update on its Bondy Gneiss Complex joint venture project located approximately 30 kilometres southeast of Mont Laurier, Quebec.

Assay results have been received for diamond drill holes RB-01-08 and RB-050-08. RB-01-08 was drilled to test an Induced Polarization anomaly identified in the late fall of the 2008 season. This hole assayed 0.02% copper over a continuous 147.8 metre interval, from 4 to 151.8 meters down hole. Minor amounts of gold and silver were also detected with within this zone. RB-01-08 was drilled at an azimuth of 270 degrees, at an inclination of -60 degrees. The mineralization in this hole consists of pyrite and chalcopyrite and is hosted within a garnet biotite bearing quartz-feldspar gneiss.

Hole RB-05-08 was drilled to test the Bing Copper showing located approximately 200 metres west of RB-01-08. This hole assayed 0.21% copper over a 37.45 metre interval, from 15.3 to 52.75 metres down hole. Minor amounts of gold and silver were also identified in this zone. RB-05-08 was drilled at an azimuth of 110 degrees, with an inclination of -45 degrees. Mineralization consists of pyrite, chalcopyrite and bornite, also hosted within a garnet biotite bearing quartz-feldspar gneiss.

True widths for the zones reported above are unknown at this time. Assays from the remaining twelve holes are pending and will be announced as they become available.

The copper analysis was completed using the acid digestion/atomic absorption analytical technique.
