Yep - gold bullion has saved my portfolio from total destruction here in the UK. And saved a few lucky people in Iceland.

Never expected gold to give so much currency protection (to date), as well as inflation protection, when I started buying a few years back - week curency and inflation pretty much teh same thing - a debased currency; having investments in Ca$ has also helped.
