I have done several placements already inside my TFSA.

I also recently transferred a placement done in my cash account via an equity swap into my TFSA, i also transferred the wts in as well... This is where the Black shoals clculation of wt value provided a valuation on that date... although the wts were out of the money.... .20 and the stock trading @ .18 from a .12 PP the deamed value of 100K wts was $130 the stock was 18,000

I therfore have a deamed capital gain of $6000 + 130 for the wts for the $12,000 placement.

There is a guidline for equity swaps I wll post tommorrow from deloite regarding RRSP to Cash swaps.

the TFSA being new should follow the same format... that being if you have a capital gain ... Report the gain.. If a loss suck it up!

There is a loophole in the TFSA at this time regarding Equity swaps.... and Rev Can will likely plug it soon. I have managed to transfer a large amount from my RRSP to my TFSA using this method... If you play chess you know that pawns have a function and value.
