I asked them about Mandiana a while back. From what I understand, the civil unrest in the area is likely the main reason why the project has been put on ice, indefinitely.

This has been in their last several MD&A's, unchanged:

"In spite of a turbulent political situation which culminated in the death of President
Lansana Conté in December 2008, SearchGold has advanced the development of the
Mandiana property, albeit at a slower pace than originally expected."

"SearchGold received the renewal of its Mandiana permit and is in good standing with the
Guinean government."

I was a bit disappointed to hear this, as the Guinea property was the main reason I initially bought into the company back in 2006. The good news is that they are still keeping issued permits active, hopefully in anticipation of a work resumption once things settle down in the area.
