Impressive Week

posted on Oct 05, 08 05:49AM

In the three years that I've been following SLAM, this past week has provided shareholders with probably the most impressive news that SLAM has delivered us to date - irregardless of the state of the markets. Fundamentally (geologically) these two projects have the potential to be significant to SLAM and its shareholders.

It's still quite early in the exploration stages of both the TSN and Costigan properties, but what a way to start programs. A 127 m intersection at Costigan (2.16% zinc, 1.14% lead, 7.3 g silver) with reports of a mineralized 400 m intersection in another hole, and all 11 holes in the program intersecting zinc-lead mineralization. Depending on the strike length of the zone, the potential of another open pit amenable deposit is quite good and may some day dwarf Nash Creek and the Hickey Zone - again remembering that it's still quite early. But no wonder Mike stated in a previous interview and nr that Costigan could prove to be a company builder, and at the very least add significant resources to those approximate 15 million tonnes at Nash.

Then on top of this we get the announcement of assays from the TSN property (up to 3% copper, 2.24% lead, 1.67% zinc, 0.06% cobalt and 2.7 g gold). Yes, it's also early and the samples are grab samples from boulders, but again the potential that lies here should provide all shareholders with optimism, particularly given the coinciding 14 km mag trend and conductor anomaly. Yep, we could be talking one big honkin' zone again. The mineral assemblage that seems to be in the 2 km boulder train also provides reasons for optimism. Copper, lead, zinc, cobalt, silver, and gold....The more metals in the deposit, the greater the economic viability of that deposit. At the very least, it's potentially one more deposit in close vicinity of the other two which could greatly enhance the economics of mining.

Ahh...to be "in the field" on TSN as the D8s or whatever dozers they're using start snapping and splintering whatever trees are there, the tracks and blade scraping over the rock as the overburden is uncovered...Just like Christmas!

Sorry. At any rate, from a fundamental standpoint, these developments are truly exciting, at least to someone who works in the field, and they should be to all shareholders - no matter what the stock price may be as a result of markets. If any exploration company has "the goods" to weather these times and continue to generate interest, it's our company, and hopefully we saw the beginning of that on Friday. There's still plenty of news to come from Opikeigan, Costigan and now the TSN.

Have a great weekend!
