Michael Taylor

President & CEO

Mr. Taylor is a founding director serving as President of SLAM Exploration Ltd. since the Company’s inception in 1996. He raised it from seed capital to listed status. He brings 25 years of exploration experience in gold and base metals within Canada with expertise in project generation and management.
Mr. Taylor was responsible for discovery of the former-producing Farley Lake gold mine near Lynn Lake, Manitoba and a number of gold occurrences at Keezhik and Opikeigen lakes near the former gold-producing town of Pickle Lake, Ontario.

Dr. John A. Hansuld

Chairman of the Board of SLAM Exploration Ltd.

Dr. Hansuld is a well-known and respected mining executive with an extensive background in exploration in North and South America, as well as the former Soviet Union. Dr. Hansuld brings a wealth of management expertise to SLAM.with a distinguished international career that spans more than four decades.
Upon earning his doctorate, Dr. Hansuld joined Amax Inc. and was involved in exploration activities in Puerto Rico, the United States and Canada. He subsequently completed a Program of Management Development from Harvard Business School in 1968. After attaining the position of Senior Vice-President for Amax Inc, Dr. Hansuld spearheaded the formation of Canamax Resources Inc. in 1982. During the 1980’s, Dr. Hansuld served as President and CEO of Canamax Resources Inc. when three gold properties were advanced from exploration status to production. He was awarded "Mining Man of the Year" by the Northern Miner in 1988 and "Developer of the Year" by the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) in 1989.

Derek Brown

Exploration Manager-SLAM

Derek Brown a professional geologist with extensive experience in the Bathurst region managing several exploration programs in the Bathurst Mining Camp from 1983 to 1999 on a number of deposits, including Taylor Brook, Captain, Canoe Landing Lake, California Lake, Ohearn, and Strachens.
After graduating from the University of New Brunswick in 1975 with a BSc. in Geology, Mr. Brown gained field experience over the next two years with Noranda and Preussag in New Brunswick and the Northwest Territories.
Mr. Brown managed large-scale geological, geophysical and geochemical projects in Northwest Territories, Northern Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and western Ontario between 1978 and 1983 as part owner of Phantom Exploration Ltd.
He provided contract geological services, including field management of the CNE project (Bathurst Mining Camp) through feasibility study, three small-scale mining periods in open pit mine and environmental reclamation between 1988 and 1992.
Mr. Brown managed limestone exploration and deposit evaluations programs in New Brunswick from 1996 to 2003, before his appointment at SLAM.
