This comes right from snowfield. I just called them and identified myself as a shareholder and asked for a few minutes of their time to answer some questions I had. The fellow on the phone was very polite and more than willing to take the time to answer my questions.
DRILLING UPDATE
There are 2 drilling units working right now. The first one is drilling a planned grid about every 25 or so yards around the area of the bulk sample, but only into the 1st sill working to identify the size of the find. They are NOT drilling very deep. The samples are being tagged and stored. The second drill is at the bulk sample site and going down into the second sill. This sample will be sent and tested.
BULK SAMPLE
The entire bulk sample is from the first sill. The sample that was just tested represents only 13% of the whole. Of the remaining 87% .. 70% is in S. Africa with DeBeers, results are expected end of March, early April. The remaining 30% remains with snowfield.
MAGNETIC OXIDE
Yes, there appears there is magnetic oxide mixed in with the bulk sample which WAS NOT in the first drill sample that everyone is referring to that had the 40 diamonds in. The feeling of the geologists is that this MAY have interefered with the process used to identify diamonds so they are going to RETEST it. There is no date projected for NR on this.
Next NR
The reason why there has been no NR from Snowfield is because the individual who is responsible for that is still at PDAC and does not return to the office until Friday. There WILL be a NR on Monday that will affirm the magnetic oxide concerns and the retest.
