The CEO is not cutting his salary. He is deferring it and receiving units which give him the right to be paid in cash or take shares valued at the date of the issue of units. Starfield has already issued a whole whack of these units to its executives. This is on top of the already issued options of which there are 19.4 million according to the MD&A.

The CEO taking another job at an existing producer with a mine in Mexico, gives the impression that not much is happening with the project in Nunavut.
