Yellowknife, N.W.T. - A gold project north of Yellowknife has gotten some results from a recent drill and geologists have found some high-grades of the precious metal.
The president and CEO of Tyhee Gold Corporation, Dr. Dave Webb, said their 10,000-metre drill program at Clan Lake has wrapped up and they've found gold that's considered top-end.
"We're quite excited. these are not uncommon to get some rather high-grade results, multi-ounce results, and this one, when you can started reporting it, is almost 0.1 per cent gold, and that's rather exceptional."
Webb said the results aren't really out of the ordinary
They typically find high and low grades of gold but they're continuing to do studies to reach their ultimate goal.
"The end game for this whole project is to build a mine and the engineering process and the permitting process seems to happen behind closed doors and people don't really see what's going on. But we wanted to make sure people were aware that we are continuing to do this work and move the project forward."
Tyhee is still waiting on permits from the MacKenzie Valley Land and Water Board before they can begin construction of a mine at Clan Lake.
