Crews are working this section from both the Tyhee camp and Prosperous Lake ends. Ploughing of lakes to full width and initial portage work has been completed from the Tyhee camp to Clan Lake on the north end and Prosperous Lake to lower Quyta Lake on the south end. Flood crews started target flooding low ice sections this week from the south end and are currently working between Bluefish and Quyta Lakes. Ice thicknesses are increasing with recent cold weather, but this section still has a lot of areas less than 20”.

Lake ploughing to full width on Giauque, Thistlethwaite and the Tyhee bypass ponds was completed this week. Initial portage work was carried out from the Tyhee bypass to the south end of Smoky Lake. Giauque and Thistlethwaite Lakes ice thicknesses are mostly 20”+, with a small section on south Giauque Lake as well as the Tyhee bypass ponds still less than 20”.

Looks like we need a bit more cold weather before they begin hauling to the camp. GS
