Insiders in the uranium business were also busy buyers in the fourth quarter. At Uranium One, insiders ended the year with almost 30 per cent more shares in the company than they had on Sept. 30, even with the price of uranium far off its highs for the year. Cameco insiders were also active in accumulating company shares.

"They all jumped in all around December, it was really quite amazing," Mr. Dixon said. "I don't know if that's anticipating a build-out of nuclear power in the United States or what, but certainly when uranium dropped down along with oil, these people moved."
