Mr. John Roozendaal reports
VMS VENTURES REPORTS DRILL TARGETS IDENTIFIED ON ITS 100% OWNED TOWER ZONE PROPERTY
Followingdetailed analysis of geophysical and geochemical data, drill targetareas have been identified on VMS Ventures Inc.'s 100-per-cent Towerzone claim (MB5188), located approximately 1,000 metres east of theReed Lake discovery zone, near Snow Lake, Man.
Koop GeotechnicalServices Inc. has been summarizing and collating various data sets overthe past six weeks and has presented the Company with a preliminarydrill target report. The two major areas featured are Tower Zone Northand Tower Zone South presented as:
Tower Zone North is an area ofapproximately 700 x 150 metres with clusters of electromagneticanomalies and coincident magnetic trends. Drilling completed to date bythe Company intersected up to 30% sulphides locally, but failed toexplain the strong-late channel electromagnetic anomalies seen in theVTEM or DPEM surveys. The geometry of deposits in the Reed Lake area isgenerally "pipe-shaped" therefore making them difficult to model withgeophysics. The top of this DPEM anomaly is modelled to be 100 metresbelow surface and it has a down plunge extent of 500 metres.
TowerZone South is an area of approximately 500 x 200 metres with similarclusters of electromagnetic anomalies as the Tower Zone North Area.Drillhole TZ-08-07 intersected 34 metres of rhyolite with disseminatedpyrrhotite, chalcopyrite and magnetite mineralization. Chloritealteration elsewhere in the drillhole and layered sulphides in anadjacent drillhole (TZ-08-04) suggests it is proximal to a volcanogenicmassive sulphide deposit. The geophysical data suggests "pipe-shape"deposits similar to our Reed Lake Discovery. The disseminatedmineralization encountered represents the very upper portion of themodeled geophysical plate and will be followed up with a number ofdiamond drillholes. The top of the target is estimated at 170 metresbelow surface and has a down plunge extent of 400 metres.
VPExploration, George Gale, states: "We are very encouraged by thisinitial report. It appears to confirm that we were near the top or edgeof several anomalies in our earlier drilling and this program shouldallow us to determine the true potential of these now, very welldefined targets. These are substantial target areas. The DiscoveryZone's drilling to date covers a strike length of only 200 meters.Further, the report's suggestion that the shape of at least two ofthese anomalies is like a cone or rod appears to be similar to theshape of the Reed Lake Discovery and fits our hypothesis that thiscould be a VMS Camp."
The Highway-Tower Zone anomaly is now knownto extend to the eastern limits of the area surveyed and the targethorizon remains open in the east and north east direction. Additionalgeophysical surveys are planned to commence following freeze-up, mostlikely in late October or November depending on weather conditions inthe area. The Company is still awaiting results from the MMI soilsampling program undertaken this summer.
All technicalinformation in this release has been reviewed by Dr. George Gale,P.Eng, who is the Qualified Person for the Company and Vice Presidentof Exploration, VMS Ventures Inc.
