VMS Ventures Provides Permit Update at the Reed Copper Deposit Near Snow Lake, Manitoba

VMS Ventures (VMS-V, Watchlist, BUY rated, no target, last close C$0.38) announced that it has received approval from the Manitoba government for the Reed Copper Advanced Exploration Permit closure plan, and has received the lease for park land property for mining activities.

Impact: Positive

The Reed Copper deposit is 70%-owned by Hudbay (BUY rated, C$18.70 target, last close C$12.03) and 30%-owned by VMS. The Advanced Exploration Permit allows for early site construction and underground development to extract a 10,000 tonne bulk sample, expected by the end of 2013. First production is expected end-2013/early 2014.

A positive construction decision was made by Hudbay December 19, 2011 on the project, which is located 120km from Flin Flon, Manitoba, with the release of the project's PEA. Hudbay will invest C$71 million in Reed in 2012. CLICK HERE TO READ MORE
