Hundreds protest in Helsinki against nuclear power and uranium mining
A few hundred protesters gathered in downtown Helsinki Saturday (Apr. 25, 2009) afternoon in an anti-nuclear power demonstration that featured a Trojan horse. The protesters used a symbolic Trojan Horse along with about 1,000 kilograms of yellow rocks symbolising uranium to demonstrate their opposition to additional nuclear power and uranium mining in Finland. The "Trojan Horse of Nuclear Waste" was the showpiece of the demonstration, which protesters say was a reminder that nuclear plants in Finland create 1,000 kilograms of nuclear waste in five minutes.
