WebTech Wireless Announces the Pending Resignation of Cameron Fraser From Its Board of Directors

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 23, 2009) - WebTech Wireless Inc. (TSX:WEW), a leading provider of vehicle location-based and fleet telematics services, announces that Cameron Fraser, WebTech Wireless' CTO and COO, will be resigning from his role as director on the Company's board of directors. Cameron Fraser is a co-founder of WebTech Wireless, and in addition to his ongoing executive responsibilities, has sat as a director since the Company's inception in 1999. Mr. Fraser will continue as CTO and COO, with a greater focus on product development and customer solutions.

Mr. Fraser's resignation will be effective with the closing of the pending acquisition by WebTech Wireless of Grey Island Systems, a transaction which was previously announced and is expected to close on October 26th, 2009.

Anwar Sukkarie, WebTech Wireless' President and CEO, commented, "On behalf of the company and its shareholders, I would like to thank Cameron for all of his hard work and dedication to our board over the past decade. As a co-founder of WebTech Wireless, he has been an inspiration and guiding force for the Company as well as a trusted partner. We look forward to his ongoing contribution and renewed focus on what he is absolutely best at – creating leading edge wireless technologies that customers love and competitors envy."

Glen Brownlee, Chairman of the Board, said, "Cameron has contributed enormously to the success of WebTech Wireless and will continue to do so. We are grateful to have had his counsel and insights over the years. The board and our governance structure are much stronger than at any other time in the Company's history and so while we'll miss him at our meetings, he and the rest of the board can approach this new era in WebTech Wireless' history confident that the interests of the shareholders are in capable hands."

Commenting on his resignation, Cameron Fraser said, "I'm very pleased that our company and board has grown to the point that it allows me to step back now and focus solely on developing innovative technology that maintains our leadership position in the market. These last ten years on the board have been highly rewarding, and I leave with the knowledge and confidence that future boards will continue to build value for WebTech Wireless shareholders and customers."

Further announcements regarding the Company's board of directors will be made upon closing of the Grey Island acquisition mentioned above.
