WebTech Wireless Announces Significant InterFleet Contract With the City of Quebec's Public Works Department

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Oct. 29, 2009) - WebTech Wireless Inc. (TSX:WEW), a leading provider of vehicle location-based and fleet telematics services, announces that through its recent acquisition of Grey Island Systems and its subsidiary InterFleet®, it has entered into a contract with the Ville de Quebec (City of Quebec), worth a potential $2.78 million over three phases. The contract involves outfitting the city's public works fleet with the InterFleet® fleet management solution, focusing initially on its snowplow and salt spreader vehicles used for critical winter maintenance work. The City of Quebec operates one of Canada's largest winter maintenance fleets.

The first of the three phases of the contract, worth approximately $900K, involves a pilot implementation of an in-house InterFleet® management system with specialized winter maintenance features and reporting functions, and equipping 114 vehicles with GPS Mobile Data Units (MDUs). In addition to vehicle location, these units monitor numerous vehicle functions such as mileage, fuel consumption, engine RPMs and engine fault codes. Additionally, on snowplows and spreaders, they are able to monitor salt spreading rates and plow functions. The pilot phase is expected to be completed in March 2010, followed by the project's second phase, which would equip the remaining fleet of approximately 351 vehicles with MDUs, to be completed by December 2010. A third and optional phase could include the equipping of an additional 1,235 city vehicles with MDUs.

Commenting on the sale, Anwar Sukkarie, President & CEO of WebTech Wireless, said, "The fact that this contract comes so close on the heels of our acquisition of Grey Island is truly a gift, and one that promises to keep on giving. With Grey Island, we're consolidating our position in the Canadian government space as the leading provider of specialized fleet management solutions. We know that what has made us successful in Canada with cities like the City of Quebec will also do the same for us in the U.S., as we aggressively pursue other government opportunities there and in other parts of the world."

Brian Boychuk, Executive Vice President, Business Development and Marketing, Grey Island Systems, said, "For this project, the City of Quebec embarked on a rigorous evaluation process with very clearly defined requirements. Their choice of our InterFleet solution speaks to our ability to meet those demands and those of other cities that require highly effective winter fleet management systems. We've been working in Quebec for a number of years now, and are very pleased with the progress we've made, due in large part to the help of local partners and the confidence that municipalities of all sizes have shown in our products and services."

This latest sale underscores WebTech Wireless' commitment to providing custom made solutions for a variety of organizations that depend on efficient and effective mobile resource management.
