WebTech Wireless Sells InterFleet® and NextBus® Fleet Management Solution to Three U.S. and Canadian Government Agencies

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire – Jan. 19, 2010) – WebTech Wireless Inc. (TSX:WEW), a leading provider of vehicle fleet location-based services (LBS) and telematics technology, today announced three noteworthy sales to North American municipal government agencies.

  • Maricopa County, Arizona: A contract for the outfitting of 473 heavy and light-duty vehicles with WebTech Wireless' InterFleet® remote fleet management hardware and software solution was awarded by the Maricopa County Department of Transportation (MCDOT). The solution provides comprehensive vehicle tracking and diagnostics capabilities for the efficient and effective management of the MCDOT fleet and enhanced emergency response services. The value of the contract is approximately US$400,000. Maricopa County, seat of Arizona's state capital Phoenix, is home to 3.95 million inhabitants and is one of the country's fastest growing counties.
  • City of Buffalo, New York: The City of Buffalo has purchased an Enterprise InterFleet® solution for a number of its public works departments. The initial contract, covering 80 vehicles, is focused on specialized winter fleet maintenance and includes snow plow sensors, salt spreader controller integration, on-board diagnostics, customized winter maintenance reporting and integration with the city's own 311 System. The current contract is valued at US$217,665, and allows additional city departments to purchase InterFleet® for their unique requirements. Buffalo is New York State's second largest city with over 1.25 million inhabitants living in the greater Buffalo area, and well known for its severe winter weather.
  • City of Welland, Ontario: WebTech Wireless has been awarded a contract by the City of Welland Transit for its NextBus® real-time passenger information solution including the first sale of the NextBus® Stop Annunciation System, which provides riders with visual and audio information on the bus' route and next stop. The contract includes an initial installation of the system on 15 buses and represents an approximate value of CDN $140,000. The City of Welland, located in the Regional Municipality of Niagara, has a population of 50,000.

Owen Moore, COO at WebTech Wireless said, "These latest contracts clearly illustrate the ability of InterFleet® to address the demands of municipalities facing very different operating challenges. Maricopa, one of the country's hottest and driest counties, needed a solution that could meet the demands of numerous, growing departments, while Buffalo's immediate needs are focused on improving the efficiency of their fleets during the critical winter months." He added, "NextBus® is also proving to be highly adaptable to customer needs, and we're very pleased that when Welland Transit needed a very cost-effective bus stop announcement system, they chose our NextBus® suite over that of competitors."

Commenting on the sales, Scott Edmonds, WebTech Wireless' President and CEO said, "We're seeing that activity in the government sector for our InterFleet® and NextBus® solutions is strong and growing as more and larger government agencies are becoming aware of the technological superiority and potential for customization that our products provide. I'm very pleased with the work of our InterFleet ®and NextBus® teams as they continue to outpace our competitors in pursuit of rewarding contracts such as these and others on the horizon."

These latest sales underscore WebTech Wireless' commitment to providing custom made solutions for a variety of organizations that depend on efficient and effective mobile resource management.
