I know that I prefer CPC search marketing over display ads - especially in this environment. If display is a significant factor for YHOO, I agree they'll miss their 3 year goals.

To this end, YHOO needs to focus on its own branding and begin driving users to the site via great content. Great content = stickiness = search. Simple as that.
