I don't think there is any doubt that the sales year 2010, starting in September of 2009, is a pivotal point for EV market and sales developments considering all the players that propose to be there with viable product at that time and considering the players who have just immersed in the shallow end of that pool already this year. Just saw the tail end of a piece on PBS tonight where they interviewed the CEO of Tesla. I missed the majority of the piece, but I assume they interviewed other players in the Plug In Hybrid, Hybrid and EV field. It will take time for the general public to warm up to the idea of EV's, but the metamorphosis of the market will be much faster for pure EV's than it was for Hybrids considering all of the PR, economic, political and conservation developments in the works concurrent to next 18 months. 2009 will see major world wide EV milestones. Living at this time re: EV development is like watching the Little Dutch Boy with his finger in the dike trying to hold back the flood waters. Time marches on and EV development is inevitable. Before long, nothing will be able to hold it back. I believe 2009/2010 will be the watershed year and that those of us invested now will see significant financial profit by the end of 2010. I was over on the AMSC Message Board of Yahoo! earlier today (AMSC is a major player re: High Temperature Super Conductive wire and cable) and someone made the interesting comment that the demand for AMSC Generation 2 superconductive cable is expected to increase soon, for among several reasons, when EV's and Plug In Hybrids take off in production/sales there will be eventually a significant increase on demand so as to force suppliers of electricity to start replacing the antiquated copper cable of the present oudated US power grid with something up to a 100 times more efficient: namely, superconductive cable such as Generation 2 AMSC product. There will be all kinds of ripple effects on the economy once you see a momentum shift in EV and Plug In Hybrids and away from ICE vehicles. I am 62 years old and I expect to be here to see the virtual death of the pure ICE as far as passenger vehicles are concerned, although there will always be room for ICE Trucks and other uses. It would be hard, at first glance, to consider NASCAR races without the roar of the ICE...but strange things happen!! How about the Ready Killowatt Indy 500?!!? Don't laugh too loud, that just may be a prediction for sometime in YOUR lifetime. Bill
