Cassidy Gold Intersects 7.48 g/t Au Over 5m at Kinkine Zone

posted on Mar 02, 07 09:55AM

KAMLOOPS, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Mar 2, 2007 -- Cassidy Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE:CDY) is pleased to announce results from reverse circulation (RC) drilling on its 100%-owned Kouroussa Gold Project, located in Guinea, West Africa. Step-out drilling at Kinkine included 19 RC holes totalling 2295 metres. Drilling continues to define the east side and northeast extension of the Kinkine deposit. Highlights include 7.48 g/t Au over 5.0 metres in KRC1129, 2.02 g/t Au over 13.0 metres in KRC1027, and 2.64 g/t Au over 10.0 metres in KRC1033. True widths are approximately 70% of reported lengths. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

KRC1118 to KRC 1121 extended Kinkine mineralization to the northeast with intervals including 1.30 g/t Au over 6.0 metres in KRC1119 and 1.22 g/t Au over 4.0 metres in KRC1121 (see Table 1). KRC1126 to KRC1132 stepped out along the east side of the deposit extending several low angle mineralized lodes further east and confirming the stacked nature of these zones. Highlights include 2.02 g/t Au over 13.0 metres in KRC1127 and 7.48 g/t Au over 5.0 metres in KRC1129. Diamond drilling will resume testing additional stacked lodes between 120 and 200 metres depth shortly.

One hole, KRC1133, intersected at least 4 distinct intervals along the west side of the deposit. These results will assist resource modelling in the area, extending mineralization to the west. Two holes, KRC1134 and KRC1135, were completed 750 metres to the southwest of Kinkine, near KRAB0416 (20.35 g/t over 20 metres), intersecting narrow zones of mineralization. At the north end of the deposit, a fence of holes, KRC1122 to KRC1125, stepping 40 metres north of previous drilling failed to return significant grades.

Latest drilling continues to extend mineralization below and to the north and east of the current resource. Updated location maps will be posted on www.cassidygold.com shortly.

The Kinkine Zone, located 4 kilometres north of Cassidy's Sanu Filanan deposit, consists of near-surface, potentially open-pittable, mainly oxide mineralization, outlined over an area 375 metres by 300 metres. In September 2006, RSG Global Consulting estimated an indicated resource of 89,000 ounces of gold in 1,486,000 tonnes grading 1.9 g/t Au and an additional 35,000 ounces of inferred ounces in 722,000 tonnes grading 1.5 g/t Au. An independent technical report describing the resource study is posted at www.sedar.com.

Exploration Program

In <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Guinea, the state of martial law was lifted on February 23rd, and a consensus prime minister has been appointed ending a bitter dispute between the government and opposition and labour groups. Cassidy Gold is reviewing the security situation in Guinea and expects to return all ex-patriot personnel to Kouroussa in the near future.

Sampling and Assay Procedures

RC drill samples were collected from the cyclone and split using a 1 in 8 riffle splitter down to approximately 2.5kg in size. All samples were sent to the SGS analytical laboratory in Siguiri, Guinea for further sample preparation and fire assay using a 50-gram sub sample. Along with SGS internal quality control procedures, external field duplicates, blanks and certified standards are undertaken over 5% of all sampling. Quality control/quality assurance is closely monitored by RSG Global personnel.

Personnel

Senior Geologist Brad Ackroyd of RSG Global Consulting heads the exploration team in Guinea. Christopher J. Wild, P.Eng, VP Exploration for Cassidy Gold Corp, is the Qualified Person for this release.
