Rolling Rock Resources Corporation (TSX VENTURE:RLL) is pleased to announce that Mr. Ronald W. Stewart, Senior Vice President, Exploration of Kinross Gold Corporation has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Rolling Rock (the "Board) effective immediately. To accommodate this appointment, the Board has increased the number of members from five to six.
Ron Stewart joined Kinross Gold Corporation in March 2002. He was appointed to the position of Senior Vice President Exploration with Kinross Gold in March 2006 with the responsibility of the Company's international exploration effort.
Mr. Stewart brings 24 years of international exploration and mining experience to the Board of Rolling Rock. Prior to joining Kinross, Mr. Stewart worked for Placer Dome Inc., where he held a variety of positions in exploration and operations in Canada, Australia, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. He returned to North America in early 2000 to manage Placer's Investor Relations department, based in Toronto.
Mr. Stewart holds an Honours, Bachelor of Science in Geology and is a member of the Association of Professional Geoscientists of Ontario.
The Board granted certain directors, officers, consultants and employees 500,000 stock options pursuant to the Company's stock option plan for a five year term and at an exercise price of $0.35, which is the closing price of the Company's stock on the date prior to the date of grant. The options granted will be subject to any applicable regulatory hold periods.
